Seize’s music system streams high-quality audio into your server’s voice channels using Lavalink. You can play tracks from Spotify, YouTube, and SoundCloud, manage a shared queue, and apply real-time audio filters. The bot also displays an interactive Now Playing card with synced lyrics and media controls.
Most music commands require you to be in the same voice channel as seize to prevent trolling and accidental disruption.

Getting Started

Before you play music, join a voice channel and make sure seize has permission to connect and speak.

Join a voice channel

Click any voice channel in your server so your user is connected.

Play a song

Type ,play <query> in any text channel. Seize will join your voice channel and start playback.

Control playback

Use ,pause, ,resume, ,skip, ,stop, or the buttons on the Now Playing message.

Supported Sources

Seize resolves queries through Lavalink and supports the following sources out of the box:
  • Spotify (tracks, playlists, albums, artists)
  • YouTube (videos and playlists)
  • SoundCloud
  • Direct audio attachments (MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, FLAC, OPUS, WEBM, AAC) up to 50 MB
If you provide a plain text query, seize searches Spotify by default using spsearch.

Now Playing Card

When a track starts, seize sends an interactive Now Playing message in the text channel. The card shows:
  • Track title with a link
  • Artist name
  • Progress bar with elapsed and total time
  • Optional synced lyrics line
You can use the built-in buttons to rewind, pause/resume, skip, toggle loop, shuffle the queue, or toggle lyrics without typing any commands.
If synced lyrics are not available for a track, seize will show a short plain-text preview instead.

Audio Filters

Seize supports real-time Lavalink audio filters. You can stack filters, but some filters use the same Lavalink filter slot (for example, nightcore and vaporwave both use timescale), so enabling one will override the other. Use ,resetfilters to clear everything and return to normal playback.

24/7 Mode and AutoMix (Premium)

Server Premium unlocks advanced music features for your guild.
  • 24/7 Mode: Keeps seize permanently connected to a voice channel, even when nothing is playing.
  • AutoMix: Blends the end of one track into the beginning of the next for a seamless DJ-like experience. You can configure the blend length in seconds.

Common Issues

If your query returns “No tracks found,” try rephrasing the search, using a direct URL, or checking that the Spotify/YouTube link is public and valid.
Make sure seize has the Connect and Speak permissions in the voice channel. Also verify your server’s region isn’t blocking voice connections.
Audio filters only apply while a track is actively playing. If you switch between nightcore and vaporwave, the last one you enabled takes precedence because they share the same filter slot.
